The Challenge: A visionary leader in the construction and entrepreneurship space possessed a wealth of proprietary knowledge—including a unique business methodology—but lacked a unified platform to amplify their message. The goal was to transform disparate activities (a podcast, social media presence and books) into a cohesive brand that positioned them as a national authority on the "Underdog Advantage."
The Strategy: Hornback Partners acted as the strategic architect to align the client’s internal values with their external influence, focusing on narrative synchronization and the development of a rich content ecosystem.
The Impact:
The Challenge: In 2017, a global material science leader sought to move beyond traditional corporate social responsibility and drive a meaningful, localized conversation around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goal was to create a platform that would catalyze action at the intersection of environmental sustainability, social justice and economic equity within a major U.S. metropolitan region.
The Strategy: Hornback Partners designed an ambitious signature summit series focusing on strategic multi-stakeholder coalition building, narrative evolution and continuous communications to power awareness and engagement around the UNSDGs in the region.
The Impact:
The Challenge: In the mid-1990s, a global life sciences leader sought to move beyond traditional philanthropy to address a critical social gap: the need for improved science literacy and systemic reform of K-12 science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in the U.S. The goal was to create a sustainable, employee-driven program that would humanize science, promote equity in STEM, and influence national policy.
The Strategy: Hornback Partners served as an architect and key driver for a U.S. Presidential award-winning public education and awareness initiative for two decades (1995–2015). We built a multi-dimensional platform that combined high-level advocacy with grassroots execution, focusing on data-driven advocacy, systemic education reform, employee mobilization and celebrity advocacy and representation.
The Impact:
The Challenge: In one of the most economically challenged congressional districts in the United States, a grassroots movement sought to prove that "healthy students at the heart of healthy schools" could transform a community. The challenge was to scale this local success story into a national model for urban agriculture and holistic education, requiring a sophisticated narrative that resonated with educators, policymakers, and global partners alike.
The Strategy: Hornback Partners has served as a long-term strategic storytelling and partnership ally for the non-profit organization, focusing on elevating the organization's "social impact" by bridging the gap between classroom innovation and global influence:
The Impact:
The Challenge: For decades, autoimmune diseases were often viewed as disparate conditions rather than a unified category of chronic illness. A leading national non-profit sought to change this perception, aiming to establish "autoimmunity" as a major public health priority, increase federal research funding, and empower millions of patients through a unified national voice.
The Strategy: Hornback Partners served as the external internal communications arm for the organization for 20 years, directing a multi-decade effort to build awareness and influence policy that featured a strategic celebrity partnership, data-driven policy advocacy, multi-media public service announcement campaigns and national briefings and summits in Washington, D.C.
The Impact:
The Challenge: During the year-long 130th-anniversary celebration for a historic New York community institution, the nation was struck by the tragic mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas. The challenge was to pivot from commemorative festivities to address the immediate grief, anxiety and desire for action within the local community, transforming a milestone anniversary into a catalyst for civic dialogue.
The Strategy: Hornback Partners spearheaded the organization of a hybrid Town Hall titled "Now What? Stopping Gun Violence in Our Communities," focusing on securing a panel of experts across diverse fields, including public health, law enforcement, mental health and legislative reform to help move the dialog beyond mourning to actionable education.
